How can I tell if this will work on my radio? Here is a quick way to check.
If you have a Harman Kardon head unit from a 2018 or 2019 Subaru Outback or Legacy with a broken touchscreen (almost all of them are broken) this is what you need. The dealer will charge you $1500 or more to fix it, we can replace the screen for a lot less.
The radio will need to be removed from the car and taken apart to install this screen. The front panel will need to be un-bonded. This repair is not for the unexperienced. It requires special tools and knowledge.
Symptoms of a bad screen
- Ghost touches
- Bubbling
- Delamination
- Non-responsive screen
- 30 day warranty on customer installed screens.
Subaru has had a problem with the 2018 and 2019 radios touchscreens delaminating. So much so that they lost a lawsuit and had to replace them. But many of you have a car that is out of warranty and no-longer eligible for replacement.
The Dealers want $1500 or more to replace it, that is crazy. Many people are just living with it. We have a solution.
This requires you to take the radio apart to fix it. If you do not have the tools or skills to do this we have a full repair service You send us the whole radio and we repair it for you. This is recommended.
The warranty obviously does not cover installation errors. Make sure you can do this before ordering .
